Stories, pics and video from Lenexa’s Trip

There was a lady that had a dream that two white people and a black person would come and tell them about god. There we were. I should not be amazed at God but I am.

It’s very hard to put into words one story that stood out since there were so many. I have never experienced something so moving. The one experience I will never forget is the young boy about 14 or 15 years old accepting Jesus. He stood back working very hard with his mother in the field. When we approached, he put on a shirt and sat down, knees pulled up, head hung. My heart was immediately sad for him. He listened to our story and I prayed the entire time for him. He told us that he suffered from seizures and night terrors, which he thought was from demons but actually he had epilepsy. He gave his heart to Christ and attended the bible study with us.

On the first day we were told to pray for a person of peace in the village where we were going. So we did and on the very first day and the very first house we came to and presented the Gospel a young man named Moses accepted Christ as his Saviour. From then on that day and the rest of the week he came with us and introduced us to all his friends. We were very grateful to have him with us all week. I guess I was shown that God is faithful to answer prayers.

Graduation Video

After struggling with the idea that my testimony could have any relevance to the people of Limi, God put me in exactly the right place at the right time. I was able to share with Deelah Luke (whose father was a priest) that the salvation of the father does not suffice as the salvation for the son. (My father is a pastor) he thought about my story for a moment and then prayed to receive Christ. Luke walked with us for the next two days as we shared the Gospel. At the final church meeting in Limi, Luke asked if there was a Bible School he could attend. Through the whole process God kept reminding me, “Just let me use you.” Then on our final day at the graduation the pastor of the church in Limi said to me, “Thank you and we will get Luke to the Bible School.”

My most memorable moment would have to be James. I shared my testimony and the Gospel to a group of men in a lean-two type structure. James listened intently. In the end he prayed to accept Jesus. Right after he ran out, grabbed his bike and said for us to follow. James led us to several other families that morning. James stayed with us all day. He was like a person of peace that day.
