More Stories, Francis and the Baptism
Photos and Stories from the last trip....
Giddy up. Our Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) chariot. We flew two of these back and forth from Entebbe, Uganda to Kajo Keji, Sudan.
Heather Sumner (left) and Susan Pino having a nice brunch of rice with hot sweet tea. Eating out at the church plant site.
Josh Rolf, Minister of Missions Mobilization at Prestonwood, preaching and teaching at the Lomonga church plant site. He and Harry Pittam were the first white people in this village.
This is the spring where the Lomonga village gathered their water. This serves people in three villages. We saw a lot of sickness because of this water.
A woman drawing water from this dirty watering hole. The good news is the team raised the funds to drill fresh water bore holes with our wonderful partner, Water Harvest International.
Our fancy church buildings. Mango trees provide awesome shade.
The young man in yellow is Francis. Generic photo you see from every e3 trip, right? Wrong. Here’s what’s cool about Francis. He’s sharing Christ with these other young people. Francis has been a believer about one hour. We asked him if he knew anyone who might want to hear about Jesus. He took us from home to home, including his own where his entire family came to Christ. We taught him the story of Christ, then encouraged him to share his own. Wham. Immediate obedience.
Landcruiser...cows. Ah, Sudan....
Susan and Mark Jordan wanted to live out that we’re here to serve, not be served. To drive this home, they washed everyone’s feet at their church plant, including e3 staff.
A 92 year-old man affectionately dubbed, “the rainmaker”. He was the landlord who gave the land for the church. He professed faith in Christ and was baptized.
The lorry driving to each church plant to pick everyone up who wanted to be baptized. That flag said something about a Jesus Christ soccer team. I have no idea, but it did look cool flapping at the front like that.
Loading up the lorry to head to the water. There was no water deep enough at any of the church plants to immerse the new believers. We had to drive them to the creek/river.
Mullai, giving instructions and final teaching about baptism.
There were so many people, we baptized them three at a time. From left to right is John Kwir, Mullai Israel, and Warren Alfred.
Mullai and a young boy. Before.
And after…
Take me to the river....wash me in the water…
Loading up for the ride home.
110 people baptized and all in the lorry.
